Résumé

The planned workshop will bring together scholars working in the healthcare and public health domain both from the perspective of the social sciences, of « field philosophy », of « empirical ethics » and of the medical sciences.  By focusing on three main medical fields — psychiatry, public health and genetics— participants will explore different approaches and their respective advantages, and well as the specific contribution philosophers can make to developing innovative normative approaches in these fields. Doctoral students will be invited to participate actively in the workshop so as to constitute a European network of young scholars working towards the resolution of important ethical and epistemological issues affecting the healthcare domain, thus strengthening the interaction and collaboration between the medical sciences, the social sciences and philosophy.
